Small bathroom? Don’t panic! Your home’s tiny bathroom doesn’t have to be the sore eye of the house.

There are plenty of ways to make your small bathroom appear larger than what it really is. A tiny bathroom remodel is your best bet at transforming your small bathroom into a well-functioning one. If the word “remodel” causes you anxiety, don’t let it.

A small bathroom means a small remodel, and there several simple things you can do to make the room look a lot larger than it is without having to knock down walls. Are you ready to get the bathroom of your dreams? Read below for some tiny bathroom remodel tips that’ll take your bathroom to the next level!

1. Optimal Storage Space

To help increase the amount of space you have in your tiny bathroom, try adding in as much storage as possible. The more storage options you have, the more room you have to store items away rather than leave them out in the open, taking up space. It’s time to start looking for some creative ways to make storage space.

To add storage but save space, you can install more shelving units, create organizers for under the sink, and creating organizers for your linen closets as well. If you don’t already have a medicine closet with mirror, consider installing one as the mirror creates an illusion of a bigger space and the cabinet gives you a spot to place all of your toiletries.

The very last storage tip we have for you is to take advantage of the back of your bathroom door by adding a rack to hang robes, towels, and other things on.

2. Clean-Up All Clutter

One of the easiest ways to make a small room look bigger is to clean up all of the clutter inside of it. Clutter is a quick way to make a room seem small and cramped. If possible, it’s best to store everything away in your cabinets and other storage areas.

Anything extra and unneeded accessories should go as well. This might include plants, wall art, and other decorations. Although all of these items are great, adding them to an already small bathroom just makes it look smaller.

Instead, find another spot for them in your house where they can be fully appreciated.

3. Use Tons of Natural and Artificial Lighting

The bright and well-lit a room is, the bigger it’ll look. The darker a room is, the smaller it’ll look. Because of this, you want to use as much lighting as possible

Your bathroom windows shouldn’t be blacked out. Let the natural light in your bathroom by using curtains that’ll provide you with privacy while allowing the light to still shine through. You’ll also want to improve your artificial lighting as well.

Remove the yellow lights from inside your bathroom and replace them with much brighter LED lights. You can also consider adding more light fixtures to lighten the room even more.

4. Create an Efficient Layout

If planning on remodeling your bathroom from the ground up, be sure to create an efficient layout. Some homes have bathroom layouts that don’t make much sense. When the layout is off, this can make a small bathroom seem smaller and much harder to get around.

Creating an efficient layout can open up more space and make your small bathroom much more functional. You’ll no longer need to worry about bumping into the toilet while trying to get into your bathtub or hit your knees on the cabinet door when sitting to use the restroom.

5. Repaint the Walls

Repainting your bathroom’s walls is a great way to brighten the room and make it seem much larger. You might not realize how dingy your bathroom paint is until you repaint them. Be sure to use a color that’ll help brighten the room and not darken it.

Once you find a nice color to use, be sure to paint all of the walls and the ceiling the same color. Keep your floors in mind as well as you’ll want the paint color you use to complement the color of the tiles.

6. Install a High Shower Head

The more you make use of the space in the bathroom, the more space you’ll have. One way to do this is to raise the showerhead. Bring the showerhead all the way up to the ceiling.

With the rise of your showerhead, you’ll need to raise the shower curtain as well. When you bring the shower curtain higher up the wall, it’ll make the shower appear bigger. Be sure to use a taller shower curtain as you won’t want it to be too short for the shower after raising the showerhead.

The raised shower curtain will direct eyes upwards and make the room seem larger as well. Another good idea is to use transparent shower curtains. You can also consider removing the curtain altogether and installing tall glass shower doors instead.
